Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Amora collects in its apps, website and extension, who receives it, how long we keep it and how to use your rights.
This policy explains what Amora collects in its apps, website and extension, who receives it, how long we keep it and how to use your rights.
This policy explains what personal information Amora collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It covers the Amora iPhone and Android apps, the website tryamora.app, web sign-up and checkout, the date night browser extension, support and the creator program. It describes what our apps and servers do today.
Amora is provided by Tonkin Apps LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in the United Kingdom. Tonkin Apps LLP is the controller of your personal information. For anything about privacy, email privacy@tryamora.app.
Some quizzes are about intimacy, desire and sex. If you answer them, your answers are stored on our servers like any other answer and your partner can see them. This can reveal information about your sex life, which data protection law treats as a special category of information. We use it only to show your answers to you and your partner. We do not use it for advertising and we do not send it to analytics or advertising providers. You can hide 18+ quizzes in the app's topic settings, which hides them but does not delete answers you already gave.
Your plan, prices, trial and renewal dates, store transaction references and refund status. Apple, Google or Stripe handle your payment details; we never receive your full card number.
Pages you visit, where you came from, campaign tags and ad click identifiers in the link, approximate country, browser and performance data. Our web sign-up also stores the answers you give in it and the privacy choice you make.
Messages and emails you send us, attachments, the email address you write from, your device model and any account details we look up to help you.
Under UK and EU data protection law we need a legal basis for each use.
Intimate quiz answers are processed only because you choose to give them to share with your partner, as described above.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Your partner sees what you share with them, as described above. We also use service providers that process information on our behalf, under contract, only for the purposes below. Which of them hold your information depends on the features you use.
You can ask us for the current list of the companies we use and which of them hold your information by emailing privacy@tryamora.app.
Web sign-up starts with optional analytics and advertising measurement turned off. If you allow advertising measurement, Amora may send events such as page viewed, sign-up completed, checkout started, trial started or purchase completed from our servers to Meta through its Conversions API and to TikTok through its Events API. The website does not load Meta or TikTok scripts.
Those events may include the product, offer, value and currency, your email address and account ID transformed with a one-way hash (a hash is still personal data when it can be matched), the ad click ID, the Meta or TikTok browser identifiers _fbc, _fbp or _ttp, and your IP address and browser details. They never include your answers, your partner's name, your date of birth, photos, journal entries or memories.
Click and browser identifiers are encrypted in our systems. The copy waiting to be sent is cleared after delivery, when you withdraw consent, or after seven days at most. Ad click details tied to your visit are removed after 90 days at most. Hashed and total campaign figures may be kept longer for reporting and fraud prevention.
The date night by Amora extension for Chrome lets two partners watch the same show at the same time on two computers. It needs your Amora sign-in and works only for linked couples.
If you apply to or work with Amora as a creator, we also hold your application answers, contact details, social media accounts and their public statistics, your agreement, and payout details such as your bank account. AI tools help us score applications using your social handles, your answers and your approximate country, and a person makes every decision. We read public profiles and posts through social media data providers, and AI tools may help us sort creators we might contact. If you connect an Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or Threads account, we read the account's profile, audience and post statistics and may publish to it with your permission, only to run and measure your work with Amora. Messages you send about onboarding, with your name, are sent to our team through a messaging app. Payouts go through our payment and accounting providers. Removing Amora in the platform's settings stops our access; see Delete Your Data.
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. Your account is held for 24 hours so you can change your mind, then deleted. Buying a subscription during the hold cancels the deletion. Deletion removes your profile, your answers, your photos, your stories, the couple's chat for both partners, and the couple's AI creations. Photos uploaded for the baby feature are not currently deleted with the account. Your partner keeps their own memories, dates and answers. Memories you created that contain your partner's photos are handed to your partner without your text and photos. Your photos and captions added to memories your partner created currently stay with your partner. Purchase records, support messages and analytics data are kept as described above, and website subscriptions are cancelled. App store subscriptions must be cancelled in the App Store or Google Play. Copies may remain in our providers' backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.
Information travels over encrypted connections, is encrypted where our providers store it, and access to it is limited by permissions so only you and your partner can reach your couple's content through the apps. Your content is not end-to-end encrypted: our systems can technically read it, and a small number of people at Amora can access it when needed to run the service, help you or investigate a problem. No system is completely secure.
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, send it to you or another service in a portable format, or stop using it for a purpose based on our legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before. Email privacy@tryamora.app from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity. We answer within one month, and tell you if a complex request needs up to two more months.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or, in the European Union, to the data protection authority where you live or work.
If you live in a US state with a privacy law, you can also ask us to opt you out of sharing for targeted advertising. Some of these laws treat the advertising measurement above as sharing even though no money changes hands. In web sign-up we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC): when your browser sends it, advertising measurement stays off. You can change your web sign-up choice by returning to web sign-up and selecting "Privacy choices". Withdrawing stops pending deliveries but cannot erase an event a provider already received.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects. Software helps us sort support messages and score creator applications. A person decides on every creator application, and sorting a support message does not decide anything about you.
Most of our providers are based in the United States, and some process information in other countries. When information leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission with the UK addendum, as set out in each provider's data processing terms. Email us for more detail about the safeguard for a particular provider.
Amora is only for people aged 18 and over. Web sign-up refuses anyone who gives a date of birth under 18. The mobile apps ask for your date of birth but do not currently refuse an account because of it. When the date of birth someone gives shows they are under 18, intimate (18+) content is hidden for them and their partner until they turn 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Amora, email us and we will look into it.
Web sign-up also saves your privacy choice in your browser's storage.
We do not sell personal information for money, use your relationship content to target ads, use it to train our own AI models, or show third-party ads in Amora.
We will update this policy when Amora changes, and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
